Say goodbye to Open Sans?
It is possible, that beginning with WordPress 4.6, we will say farewell to Open Sans font. It has been used since WP3.8 and it looks great, however it must be loaded from Google Fonts repository. Maybe next version of WordPress (it would be 4.6) will use system fonts instead of Open-Sans. We will let you know!

Get_terms and invalid taxonomy
Funny thing, I was building application and I used get_terms to get list of certain taxonomies. It all works well on my localhost… where I got WordPress 4.5 installed. I’ve uploaded this code onto client’s staging server and… Ba Dum Tss! Yeah, I got “Invalid taxonomy” error. What the hell? – I asked myself. And then I answered myself – oh, yeah, client has WordPress 4.4… and I used this construction: [crayon-662841afd4c1e298178597/] And this is ok, for WordPress 4.5. For older WordPresses and to keep compatibility, use this: [crayon-662841afd4c28827815134/] This one will work for WordPress 4.5 and for older ones, too.

WordPress 4.5 RC2!
Probably last releace candidate, RC2 is available for download! WordPress 4.5 is getting closer and closer… Is 12 April still possible? Yeah, it is. Test your themes and plugins, some changes in 4.5 may break some backward compatibility… overall, it is the better solution than to keep it old way. Do you use WordPress 4.5 RC2? Have you tested it yet?

Using dollar sign $ and jQuery in WordPress
As you may noticed, your jQuery scripts under WordPress environment may not work correctly while using $ (dollar sign) as jQuery handler. Why? Because there are conflict between your jQuery and WP’s jquery. So, what shall I do? There are a few good solutions to avoid this. First: [crayon-662841afd6108012816873/] Second (my fav if there is no problem with document.ready check): [crayon-662841afd6110724086178/] Third (my fav when you need to hook document.ready event) [crayon-662841afd6113373549030/] Easy and simple.

So excited, final planned beta
Final planned beta (fourth) of WordPress 4.5 is available to download. They removed editor shortcuts for text, and I regret it. Oh well, you don’t have anything you want. Also about 100 fixes and changes are available. It looks better and nicer. And I got it! Of course on my local server.
